Why did we pick this disease? Let’s look.

2019 Alzheimer’s Quick Facts

Alzheimer’s disease is the 6th leading cause of death in the United States.

More than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s.

Every 66 seconds, someone in the United States develops Alzheimer’s disease.

Nearly half of care contributors — those who are caregivers of someone with Alzheimer’s and/or contribute financially to their care — cut back on their own expenses (including food, transportation and medical care) to pay for dementia-related care of a family member or friend.

In 2015, 15.9 million caregivers provided an estimated 18.1 billion hours of
unpaid care valued at more than $221 billion.

Alzheimer’s is the only cause of death among the top 10 in America
that cannot be prevented, cured, or even slowed.

There are approximately 700,000 people dying each year
because they have Alzheimer’s.
1 in 3 seniors dies with Alzheimer’s or another dementia.
